Hi, I’m Ami and I live in Wiltshire with my 14-year-old Son, my partner Joe and our crazy dog Bella and loveable cat Gizmo.
After completing a Diploma in Childcare and Education, at 21, I set up and ran a successful nursery for two years. Unfortunately, at 24, due to unforeseen circumstances we made the hard decision to close the nursery and I also became a single parent. Following from this I became reliant on benefits and unemployed and struggled to get back into employment. With my, then, undiagnosed ADHD I knew I could thrive through adversity, I pushed myself and worked in various roles, completed qualifications, and was headhunted for a role within a fostering agency.
Over the past 5 years I have completed degrees in Play Specialism and Working with Children and Families, set up a messy play toddler group and worked in a role supporting foster carers and looked after children. Most recently I have begun training to become an NLP practitioner.
Within all my roles I have worked with children and adults, many of those have faced various challenges, such as anxiety, poor communication skills, feeling ‘suck’ and lack of confidence. Training as an NLP Practitioner has allowed me to combine the skills I have gained over the years with tools and techniques to help manage challenging behaviours, emotions and allow you to grow a more positive mindset.
Growing up I struggled with self-confidence and anxiety, I had very low self-esteem and found it hard to speak up for myself. Through having these challenges, I have found they have had an impact on my adult life. I want to be the person I needed growing up to a child or young person and help them to work through these challenges early on so they can grow to develop confidence and trust in themselves so they can grow up to be emotionally stable, secure, and balanced adults.
